Bill Curtis is a founding member of SCM. During his professional career spanning nearly 40 years, Bill has held a wide range of marketing and executive management positions in the insurance industry.
After beginning his career with Aetna Casualty & Surety, Bill joined The Sullivan Companies, a group of associated organizations involved in different areas of the insurance brokerage business, in 1972. Bill’s first position with The Sullivan Companies was as an account executive with Walker & Sullivan in Los Angeles. He then held the position of vice president of Gerald J. Sullivan & Associates in Los Angeles from 1980 to 1986. Bill has been in his current position since 1987.
Bill is an active member of several professional associations, including the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers and IBA West. Over the years, he has served on the advisory boards of over 20 insurance companies. He is currently a board member of the United Way, Young Life and IBA West organizations.
Bill graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. degree in Business with an emphasis in finance, real estate and insurance. He also attended the Wharton School of Business Management.

John Monroe has been a principal of the firm since 1990 when it was known as Sullivan & Curtis Insurance Brokers. In addition to his involvement in the overall management of SCM, John works closely with his colleagues in the Commercial Risk Management and Employee Benefits departments to structure risk management solutions for middle market corporate clients.
Prior to joining SCM's predecessor, John was a vice president of Gerald J. Sullivan & Associates in Los Angeles. He began his career in the insurance field as an assistant manager of the Bond and Commercial Department of the Aetna Casualty & Surety Company in Los Angeles. Before entering the insurance industry, John participated in the management training program of California Federal Savings Real Estate Loan Department.
John is a member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, IBA West, the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, the Professional Insurance Agents, and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California. He serves on the boards of the Pepperdine University / Seaver College Board of Advisors and Insuring the Children. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and a founding member of the Los Angeles Music Center.

Managing Director, Chief Development Officer

David Kummer has been a principal of the firm since 2007. In addition to managing to commercial production efforts of the firm, David focuses on resolving the risk management needs of middle market companies throughout Southern California.
With over 20 years of experience as a broker, underwriter, and in claims, David puts together teams that creatively provide solutions addressing a clients’ unique risk profiles. Through his career, David has held a variety of positions in the insurance field, including Claims Adjuster, Claims Supervisor, Claims Manager and Regional Claims Administration Manager. As a result of this wide breadth of experience, he is able to introduce a wide range of solutions to meet clients’ issues.
Prior to joining SCM, David was with Tegner-Miller Insurance Brokers in Santa Monica. He began his career with Farmer’s Insurance. David holds the designation Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associate in Claims degree.
David is a member of Vistage (formerly TEC.) He sits on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of greater Los Angeles and is very active with the YMCA and its annual campaign, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of America and The Hathaway Sycamores, a home for “at-risk” youth in Pasadena.

Shawn Kraatz brings nearly 20 years of carrier, MGA and retail brokerage experience to the firm. Shawn’s role includes management of the Commercial Production, Loss Control/Safety and Marketing divisions of the firm, in addition to company leadership responsibilities on the Executive Management team.
Prior to joining SCM, Shawn held the position of first vice president at Alliant. He possesses extensive knowledge in all lines of property and casualty insurance, with core focuses in Public Entity, Healthcare, Hospitality, Real Estate, Construction and Complex Environmental Transactions.
Shawn is a licensed Property/Casualty broker. He is also an active philanthropist and currently holds the position of Board Chairman for Kids Konnected, a national non-profit organization. (click name to close bio)
Jeannine Coronado Eckenweiler

Jeannine Coronado Eckenweiler applies over 20 years of experience at the firm to effectively manage its operations. In this role, she oversees SCM's three offices and is responsible for strategic planning and implementation, leadership development, team formation, customer service, training and recruitment, legal compliance and information technology.
Prior to her current position as General Manager, Jeannine spent over five years as the department manager in each of the firm's three lines of business: Commercial Risk Management, Group Benefits and Personal Risk Management. As a result, she has a deep understanding of the firm's clients and how to meet their needs.
Jeannine is a licensed Fire and Casualty broker and Life and Disability broker. She is a member of numerous agent/carrier advisory councils, including Fireman's Fund, Travelers, Aetna and Chubb, and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

Mark Eckenweiler is the chief financial officer at SCM. He has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting profession.
Prior to joining SCM as controller, Mark was a financial executive at Shearson American Express. He began his career as an auditor at the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson.
